By deactivating the battery, the power consumption of the Battery Management System (BMS) is reduced to zero, enabling the battery to be stored without experiencing a drop in voltage or state of charge. It even shields the battery from parasitic draws. You can store your battery in your boat, connected to your trolling motor, for extended periods without removing the battery terminal connections.
