Fishing Sonar Battery Expansion
Fish finders and sonar systems are indispensable for locating fish and understanding underwater terrain. These sophisticated electronic devices require a stable and reliable power source to function accurately. Fluctuations in power can lead to incorrect readings or system failures, potentially compromising your fishing expedition. The steady power output from LightningVolt batteries ensures that your electronic fishing aids perform optimally.
Your boat’s live scope might be your most power-hungry device after your trolling motor. Combining your live scope with other 12V accessories can quickly drain down your hotel power bank, causing you to start your engine to keep them top up. That’s why our professional anglers opt for multiple LV1300-R2 models connected in parallel to extend the run time of their 12V battery bank. LightningVolt designed these batteries with an internal circuit breaker so multiple batteries can be connected in parallel safely to deliver power for days.
Bluetooth Monitoring
With the popular LightningVolt smartphone app, you get real-time insights and control right at your fingertips. Monitor your battery’s state of charge, voltage, current, and temperature all displayed instantaneously on your phone or tablet. The app simplifies battery monitoring by pinpointing the time remaining to charge or deplete your battery, ensuring you’re never caught off guard. Diagnosing your battery system is simple with the LightningVolt app, instantly read battery status and faults with suggested solutions to keep you energized
Power Control
The LightningVolt Button works like a power switch to activate/deactivate your lithium boat battery. Use the LightningVolt Button when you intend to store the battery for an extended period. By deactivating the battery, the power consumption of the Battery Management System (BMS) is reduced to zero, enabling the battery to be stored without experiencing a drop in voltage or state of charge. It even shields the battery from parasitic draws which means you can store your battery in your boat, connected to your trolling motor, for extended periods without removing the battery terminal connections.
It’s also a battery safety mechanism! We recommend using the LightningVolt Button to deactivate the battery to ensure user safety and to prevent shorting out components while working on the boat’s battery circuit and during transportation.
Onboard DC-DC Charge/Isolator
The LightningVolt DC to DC charger was loved by many users of our first gen design so our engineers made it a built-in feature on our new battery! The LightningVolt DC-DC onboard charger allows the battery to be charged by any 12-36V DC input can be used, like your alternator or solar array. We include this on every battery to enable direct charging without the addition of an isolator, switchgear, diode, or MPPT controller!
To prevent overloading your boat’s alternator, the charger smartly lowers input to 10A. It also incorporates an automatic disconnect feature to safeguard against draining your watercraft’s starting battery. Additional DC-DC chargers can be connected in parallel for faster charging. Or a compatible lithium charger can still be connected to the battery terminals for AC or rapid charging.
The DC-DC charger can also be wired to use your LightningVolt battery as an input source allowing you to draw a 12V current out of your 24V LightningVolt battery bank to charge a 12V lead acid starting battery or to power 12V graphs, sonar, or power poles!
BMS with Precise Safety Conditions
LightningVolt™ batteries are equipped with a built-in battery management system (BMS) that incorporates several safety features to protect the battery and enhance its lifespan. The LightningVolt batteries BMS features distinctive self-resetting cell protection, meaning that if the BMS trips to protect the battery, it will come back online automatically.
LightningVolt batteries have a high voltage disconnect feature, which prevents damage if an individual cell voltage exceeds the preset threshold. A similar feature is the low voltage disconnect, where the BMS prevents failure if an individual cell falls below the preset threshold. The BMS also includes thermal management protections, high current discharge surges, and short circuits, and is the first lithium battery to be freeze-cycle tested and vibration tested.
These precise safety features built-into each LightningVolt battery ensures safe and reliable operation for heavy duty trucking applications while maximizing its overall lifespan and performance. So, you can use your battery hard on the water and run your trolling motor all day.
Precision Active Cell Balancing
Rugged Case with Heavy Duty Handles
LightningVolt batteries were first developed as a lithium upgrade for commercial semi-trucks but quickly gained popularity with full-time RVers and competition fishing boats.
Engineered for durability, longevity, and convenience LightningVolt batteries feature automotive grade lithium cells encased in a robust, heavy-duty exterior that is designed to withstand the rigors of road travel and adverse conditions. The rugged battery case features strong yet ergonomic handles for easier handling and transportation, making the installation and removal processes seamless. This combination of resilience and convenience made LightningVolt the battery of choice for those seeking a dependable, durable, and user-friendly power solution on the water and overland – without compromising on safety.
Safety Vent
For even more safety, our engineers include a pressure release valve in the battery case design. In a catastrophic event where the cells overheat or rupture, the vent will release instead.
Universal Center Terminals
Universal M8 terminals are used for easy installation in a range of applications. We even supply you with hardware necessary for securely connecting your battery to your trolling motor, fishing boat, or houseboat!
