On a construction site, every step relies on the one before. This means that the wrong piece of heavy equipment breaking can cause trickle-down delays to the whole schedule. A vital heavy-duty machine like an earthmover, bulldozer or mobile crane failing means expensive repairs, rescheduling, and lengthy downtime while your crew and machinery sit idling. It’s a real headache—don’t let a failed Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) be the cause.

A Tradition of Emissions Control
Our R&D team is constantly developing new designs and technologies. But this is only possible because we come from a tradition of aftertreatment experts. At Roadwarrior, our expertise doesn’t just come from our professional engineering team—it comes from being part of the DCL technology group. DCL started developing emissions controls 30 years ago, for the mining industry. They’ve discovered a lot about soot and carbon in the intervening years.
Our team has grown and developed considerably in our own right. However, our DCL ties give us the benefit of their catalyst design experience and technological advances. The most significant of these for us at Roadwarrior was the inclusion of advanced Metalcor® technology, which we use in all our catalyst models. This superior catalytic coating lets us offer construction equipment operators the highest levels of emissions control and energy efficiency. This is what we call the Roadwarrior advantage.
Regen not Reman for Construction DPFs
Your aftertreatment system filters your exhaust stream and removes the toxic elements before they’re released into the air you breathe. The filter captures soot and particulate matter. Your exhaust system burns off the accumulated soot by releasing a small amount of fuel into the exhaust stream. This is active regeneration, which can happen while your machine is still running. However, small amounts of soot will slowly build up, and after about 4,000 hours of running time, the DPF will be unable to clean itself. At this point, you will need to have it removed and cleaned. Though time-consuming, this is an essential process and can significantly extend the life of your engine.
‘…Brand-new Roadwarrior construction DPFs extend the life of your engine…’
DPF cleaning can take a couple of days—it’s tempting to save time by trading your DPF for a reconditioned unit. But this often costs more in the long run as there’s no actual remanufacturing possible on a DPF. A reman DPF is another company’s old, used part that has been cleaned and put in your truck. Reman DPFs might well have received more wear than your original part and frequently have short or unreliable service lives. After paying heavily for the same service as cleaning, you can encounter difficult-to-diagnose problems and hold-ups. This often means you end up buying a new DPF.
Your most reliable and cost-effective course is to schedule a DPF cleaning at a convenient time and purchase a new DPF before yours reaches the end of its usable life. We can provide brand new construction DPFs to significantly extend the life of your engine, and get you back on track, saving you lots of hassle along the way.
