Description
Having Trouble with Your Cummins NOx Sensor 1954665?
Roadwarrior part NOX-CXX-011 is a complete plug-and-play replacement for your Cummins outlet NOx sensor 1954665. It is one of eight Cummins NOx sensor models we stock replacements for in the Roadwarrior aftermarket catalogue! We test our NOx sensors rigorously before they’re released to ensure they’re compatible with your Cummins ISX engine! Our tests also confirm that our replacements are as reliable and effective as the outlet Cummins NOx sensor they’re replacing!
What is a NOx Sensor?
Most Cummins engines have two NOx sensors, with one positioned on either side of the SCR. The upstream/ inlet sensor measures NOx levels in the exhaust before the SCR and the outlet/ downstream NOx sensor measures NOx levels after it. The ECU uses this comparative data to ensure that the SCR is working properly and is getting enough DEF. This helps the SCR catalyst reduce toxic NOx levels in your semitruck’s exhaust!
Why Should You Pick Roadwarrior NOx Sensors?

What Are the Most Common Cummins NOx Sensor Problems?
Cummins NOx sensors are an extremely sensitive part that measures fluctuations in microscopic NOx particles in your exhaust stream. However, a small amount of damage or contamination can cause nitrogen oxide sensors to malfunction. Soot contamination from other parts of the emissions system is one of the main problems affecting the Cummins NOx sensor. If soot from the exhaust clogs up the nitrogen oxide sensor, it’ll give inaccurate readings. This can lead to too much or too little DEF being injected into the exhaust before the SCR. The ECU will register the data anomaly and trigger a DTC to alert you to the issue.
Your Cummins NOx sensor 1954665 is also very susceptible to moisture contamination! Exposure to moisture can occur either during installation or from the exhaust once the system is running. The contamination risk is one of the reasons we recommend having your NOx sensor professionally installed. If your replacement sensor is faulty, having it installed professionally also makes it easier to prove that the issue occurred during manufacture not installation!
