What is the Diesel Decoder?
The Diesel Decoder is a pocket-sized diagnostic scan tool for heavy-duty trucks. It reads truck performance data and scans fault codes, including OEM-specific and permanent codes. The Diesel decoder is a mid-range tool; this means it’s better suited to drivers, owner-operators, and small-fleet managers than large-scale professional mechanics. Diesel Laptops and Roadwarrior created it as a joint project, combining diagnostic and engineering expertise. The team designed it to be user-friendly and easy to use—you just plug it into your truck’s connector port, then link it to the free Diesel Decoder app on your phone via Bluetooth. The package includes an adaptor that enables it to work with a 9-pin or standard OBD2 connector port. This means it’s compatible with all North America’s major HD truck manufacturers, including Freightliner, Mack, Volvo, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star and International. You can find out more about the Diesel Decoder on the Roadwarrior website!
